Curt Potteiger

RIP the kind hearted and ever-authentic soul, Curt Potteiger.  Loved by all in the York artist community.

Of course been an artist all my life but paths led away to life in labor as a young man. In my mid 20s, Began college in Psychology and minored in computers although I had purchased, self taught, and ran a local computer users group. Before graduation, I was hired as a PC repair technician and eventually became an IT manager at an Accounting Firm. Due to unexpected issues from a birth defect that wasn’t detected until I was 38 years old, I ended up down and out. On recovery over the years, I went back to college and university to add Fine Arts to my college major and a Masters of Fine Arts to my name. I’m involved in the local art groups in York and teach a class downtown when I can. When I’m not doing the art, I do great carpentry and other things at home since I have broad experience in many areas. I like doing people sketches in pencil and charcoal and have done still life work in the same. I also carry my black covered sketchbook with my as often as possible and draw much “cartoon” work in it without pencil – straight from pen drawings – and people like to look through it.
