Debbie Bailey Toluba

My painting journey in 2021 and have enjoyed experimenting with acrylics and mixed media pieces. My art is abstract, colorful, and intuitive. Each piece is an exploration of color, texture and process leading to uniquely different works. The birth of a painting is hands-on, focusing on making little pieces of hand painted paper, found objects and organic materials fit together like a puzzle.  Often it feels like I am building something in addition to creating. Words buried under layers of paint are the starting point for the many moods and outcomes I hope to achieve while I spend time with my materials. The most gratifying part of a piece is stepping back and realizing that it has reached its completion.
