I have worked with my hands as long as I can remember.  Sewing, crocheting, knitting, and using recycled materials have been petri dish of creating.

Beadwork sprang from my interest in botany.  I taught myself how to bead, realizing that beadwork reflected how plant cells connect.  Beading allows me to combine sewing, knitting, painting, and sculpting techniques into a unique art form that interacts with light in an amazing way.

  1. OMG Karen your work is exquisite. The iris is so real that unless you get close, it doesn’t look like beadwork. Do you ever teach your skills? Thank you for sharing. It’s a pleasure to see what you do.
