I have been creating naive, primitive oil paintings for more than three decades. Early on, I was inspired by the folky style of Grandma Moses, the professional name of Anna Mary Robertson Moses (1860-1961), a New England farm wife who started painting in her eighties, and who became an American icon.

I like to tell a story of country life in my art, a life I sometimes wish I had grown up in. It’s easy for me to get caught up in a painting and imagine myself living there. Old farmhouses, barns,
