A Conversation with Lysistrata 2017
Thursday, March 16 at 7 pm

DreamWrights in collaboration with Weary Arts Group (WAG) presents A Conversation with Lysistrata 2017. This active evening will include excerpts and short scenes from the production of Lysistrata 2017, along with a dialectical exchange with the director and cast about the power and themes found in this classic Greek comedy updated to be relevant in the 21st century.

Written by Aristophanes and originally performed in ancient Greece in 414 BC, Lysistrata is a comic account of one woman’s extraordinary mission of persuasion. Reinterpreted for 2017, this performance will present current social issues in a way that make people think and encourage them to come together to find common ground.

Some content may not be suitable for all audiences. Recommended for ages 18 and up.

Tickets are $15. $5 off for students and seniors.
Refreshments and light snacks will be available for purchase. Cash bar service provided by Tutoni’s.

Prior to this conversation, “Lysistrata 2017” will be presented as in its entirety by WAG as part of its Womens’ Series at Marketview Arts on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11 at 7:00 pm.
