That’s the type of arts and crafts you’ll find at Art Downtown in historic Hanover. And that’s the type of artists who are members of the Hanover Area Arts Guild, who exhibit and sale the art at the gallery.
Including Prudence Aliminosa Reichart.
She creates works of art from gourds.
Musical instruments, lamps and whimsical cats crawl out of gourds, under Reichart’s hands. She sees an owl where most of us can only visualize a fruit. Santa appears — complete with his hat — from a fat gourd.
Reichart’s work and that of other Arts Guild artists can be seen during regular gallery hours. See paintings, cards, jewelry and a variety of 3-D work 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
