A dinner and ballroom dance, in celebration of National Ballroom Dance Week, is being held at the Valencia Ballroom in York, PA.
A Valencia Homecoming, a dinner dance in celebration of National Ballroom Dance Week, is being held at the Valencia Ballroom in York, PA. The historic Valencia ballroom dates back to the 1920’s when it hosted performances by many of the major big bands of the era such as Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. This annual event, hosted by the York, Lancaster, and Harrisburg chapters of the national USA Dance organization, has returned following a 2-year break while the Valencia was closed for remodeling.
The event features dancing throughout the evening to music by the local band The Headliners and DJ Studio 5. Dinner will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
USA Dance, a non-profit organization, has more than 150 chapters in communities throughout the country. Their mission is to improve the quality and the quantity of ballroom dancing in the United States, and to educate the public about the physical, mental, and social benefits of ballroom dancing. The local chapters hold monthly dances that are open to singles and couples of all ages and dancing abilities.
