A 1-day workshop to introduce artists to the world of insects! With Nicole Danielle and Martin Mikulus!
Nicole and Martin Mikulas team up to introduce artists to the world of insects and how to effectively illustrate the natural world as well as how insects inform exciting works of abstraction. Martin will explain the structure and function of fascinating insects while Nicole instructs students how to properly illustrate as well as the artistic processes that can aid in the creation of successful abstract art. Drawing from the intricacy and exactness of illustrative artists such as Autobahn, students will learn how to truly see the world in front of them and translate it onto paper. Conversely, artists such as O’Keefe provide the inspiration for creating art in the abstract that conveys the personal design of nature. Students will have the exciting opportunity to explore both ends of the art spectrum, experiencing a taste of realism and abstraction.
