Family friendly event, using hands on activities to make connections to our local and national history.
Discover how the Thirteen Colonies became the United States of America, and learn about the document that developed the nation’s first form of government! Enjoy a variety of family friendly activities that introduce the younger ages to colonial and American revolutionary history with fun make and takes, demonstrations and interactive experiences. In addition, see an original 1777 printing of the Articles of Confederation up close.

Pay for your crime in the pillory
See and handle common forms of currency used during the colonial and revolutionary period
Learn about the different flags that have represented our nation and make one to represent you
Explore ways messages were decoded to keep them out of the enemy’s hands
Discover how the Articles united the 13 colonies into one nation through a hands on demonstration
Learn why the Articles were necessary and view the original printed document
Visit our a Revolutionary War soldier encamped outside the Courthouse and see a demonstration of black powder musketry.
