ABOUT THE SHOW
This show is a culmination of a shift in my career as an artist. Leading up to the summer of 2022, I was working full time at an arts organization where I was burnt out and put off making art for myself. Once I left, I felt free and empowered to create a fresh and new body of work. I use really bright and strong feminine colors while juxtaposing them alongside more jarring graphics. I like having people look at a piece and think one thing, and come back again with a totally different idea. My work tiptoes the border of abstract, and I let the viewer fill in the holes I’ve left empty for them.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ivy is a multidisciplinary artist and writer based in York, PA. She graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a degree in fine art and art history. She loves collaborating on programming for artists, painting murals and installations, and telling stories. She is passionate about societal issues of injustice, animal rights, climate change, and support for creatives.
