Join us on January 16th for a closing interactive event focusing on the theme of fear with artist Jessica Jane Julius
Politicians, Activists, and scholars often refer to a “culture of fear.” Fear of terrorism, fear of pollution or disease, fear of different views or lifestyle; these real or imagined threats cause anxiety in today’s world. Temple professor Jessica Jane Julius’ community-based installation will examine the culture of fear through the lens of visual and performing arts offering a new perspective into how fear pervades every aspect of how people relate to and interpret the world around them. During the run of the exhibition Julius, a graduate of York City’s William Penn High School, will encourage current York City students participating in the project to analyze their fears, understand their origin, and take power over them. Join us on January 16th for a closing interactive event focusing on the theme of fear. No RSVP required, all are welcome.
