Brass Era cars will be on display at the Ma & Pa Railroad August 6.
The Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village at Muddy Creek Forks is holding their 7th annual early American Automobile Day Sunday, August 6. The event is free. Brass era cars owned by members of the Susquehanna Valley Region Chapter of the Horseless Carriage Club of America (HCCA) will be on display between 1:00 – 5:00 pm. Previous events have included vehicles from EMF, Ford, Chevrolet, Buick, Pullman, White, REO, Chalmers-Detroit, Maxwell and others. Vehicles will be staged in front of the A.M. Grove General Store. Owners are pleased to show their cars and discuss with attendees, along with answering any questions.
There is a lot to see and do at the Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village. In addition to the brass era cars, plan enough time to take a train ride and visit the historic buildings. Motorcar train rides through the scenic Muddy Creek Valley are offered at $10 for adults, $7 for children 3-12 and free under age 3. Times are: 1:15, 2:15, 3:15 and 4:15 pm. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.MaAndPaRailroad.com.
Visitors to the A. M. Grove Store, mill, and grain elevator are welcomed by costumed docents possessing a wealth of knowledge and fascinating stories about the people who lived in Muddy Creek Forks a century ago. Guided tours of the Heritage Village will also be available for ticketed train passengers.
