Early American Cooking Demonstration

What did people eat during the early days of York? Where did food come from and how was it prepared?

What did people eat during the early days of York?  Where did food come from and how was it prepared? Learn about 18th century ingredients, cooking techniques, and tools at the Colonial Complex.
Watch Manager of Public Programs, Christine Cooper,  demonstrate preparation and cooking techniques using the tools of the period. Visitors will be able to observe, ask questions, and visit the Tavern kitchen garden.   Christine will also talk about common ingredients and where they came from.  Programs are outdoors and weather dependent.
Cooking Demonstrations will be held:
October 26- Stew’d Meat
November 23- Sausage and Apples
