Exploding Fluid Acrylics with Maryel Henderson

If you are ready to loosen up and have a little fun with paint, this might be the class for you!  We start out with liquid acrylics and inks in this workshop and build from there. Have a bunch of those little craft paints sitting around that you don’t know what to do with? We use them in this class, mixed with silicone and another medium to get beautiful results that look like human cells. Lots of surprises but my technique is fail-proof. I have experimented with several methods and come up with a formula that works every time! Everyone gets great cells using this technique!

We will also be using liquid acrylics in a “wash out” technique that gives the look of batik, and then we will combine this with the cellular technique.  Lots of surprises occur as the paints are manipulated, then left on their own to flow into beautiful designs. These techniques produce great abstract results but easily lend themselves to added detail, a process Maryel uses in her paintings. If you are into abstracts, you will get beautiful results! But if you want to add detailed realism, there are no limits.  Maryel will be doing detailed demos and suggesting many options for creating and blending materials to inspire you.  If you love vibrant color and enjoy experimenting with paint, you will really enjoy this class Everyone from the beginner to the advanced artist will have fun in this workshop.
