Fall Concert with York County Honors Choir
The York County Senior Honors Choir and York Youth Symphony Orchestra present Inspire – a concert of Hope, Thanks, Grace and Gratitude – performed by many of the brightest and best youth musicians in York County.
The program features the Requiem for the Living, by the award-winning composer Dan Forrest. Published in mid-2013, this piece offers a fresh and inspiring perspective on life, love, loss and renewal. Quickly becoming Forrest’s best-known and much-acclaimed work, this “Requiem” has already been performed across the U.S. and multiple times at Carnegie Hall.
The second half will also include songs to Inspire, including The Prayer, Thankful, One Day More, as well as an uplifting arrangement of God Bless America.
The York County Senior Honors Choir, under the direction of Randy Yoder, is comprised of students in grades 10, 11 and 12, representing many school districts and homeschools of York County. The choir has received accolades for its fine performances to audiences in a variety of venues each year. This unique collaboration with choral directors, private music instructors, and families from all over York County gives students the opportunity to reach out and share their talents with others who have the same love of music and level of dedication in a non-competitive environment.
Maestro Gregory Woodbridge conducts the York Youth Symphony Orchestra which is comprised of more than 70 musicians in grades 9-12, representing public, private, cyber and home-schools in York County and beyond. Under his leadership, the YYSO creates a unique opportunity for elite youth musicians to learn a challenging repertoire with peers, perform in a variety of venues, and expand their perspectives.
