Artwork from years past is returning to our gallery during February as part of our 50th anniversary celebration
Stroll down memory lane during February at Art Downtown.
The gallery’s February show, “For the Love of Artists,” features art from deceased members of the Hanover Area Arts Guild as the organization celebrates its 50th anniversary.
It’s a chance to look back at the progress of artists and look into the future, said Jane West, who leads the Gallery Committee for the Arts Guild. In preparation for the show, Arts Guild members called patrons for art loans.
The result is an exhibit featuring 156 paintings, prints, photographs and pieces of other artwork representing 50 years of art.
The Arts Guild was formed in 1968 by a handful of artisans who began meeting at the YWCA.
A reception is planned 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, to celebrate the exhibit. The reception at Art Downtown, 32 Carlisle St., Hanover, is part of Hanover Main Street’s Second Saturday celebration. It is open to the public.
