Visit the unique galleries of Royal Square as part of the Cultural Alliance of York County’s “Raise The Curtain” campaign.

Time: 5:00-8:00pm

Join us in the Royal Square District for our first ever Gallery Crawl! Visit our unique galleries as part of the Cultural Alliance of York County’s “Raise The Curtain” campaign. Finish up at Aviano’s, where CAYC Executive Director Kelley Gibson herself will be pouring a special cocktail as a fundraiser!

PARTICIPATING GALLERIES:
– HIVE artspace – Featuring a special viewing of the York Artbook Collective artbooks, with some of the participating artists there to say hello. We will also have a limited number of free artbooks for those who would like to add to the YAC library courtesy of the CAYC. You can also view the February heart-themed “Crush” exhibit featuring artwork from more than 40 local, national, and international artists in a wide variety of mediums.

– King’s Courtyard Artists Collective – Meet artist members Harry Hawbecker, wood sculptor, and Daniel Dror, photographer. Plus collections of artwork by more than 18 artist members.
– The Dark Parlour – Visit the Dark Gallery on the 2nd floor to see the results of First Friday’s “Neon Death” interactive live glow paint session, in which visitors were invited to paint the walls and ceiling with glow paint to become a part of the February exhibit.

– OMG Studios – View artworks by Carol Oldenburg, Cheryl Migliarini, and Kara Gonzalez.

– The Parliament Arts Organization – View works by Eric Tonzola and Dizzuane, and pop up shops by Gifted Pressure and Pluto May. Artist Luz Marrero will have her studio open on the 2nd floor.

– Venture – JoAnne Schiavone, Karen Paust and Susan McDaniel have new items that will make your heart melt! Plus a preview of coming Spring attractions. Who doesn’t want Spring at this time of year!

SHOPS:
Several of our district shops will be open this day as well!
– Bare Scentz Soap Co – Open until 7pm. This black-owned, woman-owned business specializes in luxurious hand-crafted soaps and body products that are vegan and cruelty-free, with cheeky names that are guaranteed to bring a smile (or at least make you blush)!

– Artemis Vintage – Open until 5pm. A treasure trove of vintage goods and collectibles.

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
– Aviano’s – Guest Bartender Series! From 5:30-7:30 CAYC Executive Director Kelley Gibson herself will be pouring a special cocktail to raise money for the CAYC as a part of this FUNdraiser series!

– The Cantina – Get a head start on the evening’s festivities at Tina’s Happy Hour from 4-6 with half off select drinks and apps. More info: thecantinayork.com

– Collusion Tap Works – open until 10pm. 24 beers on tap, food is also available.

– Granfalloons Tavern – Open 4-10pm. American bar fare, wings, burgers, steak.

– World Grills – open 11am-8pm, Asian-fusion, with vegetarian & vegan options.

OTHER NEAT STUFF:
– Royal Square Mural Walk – pick up a freshly-updated Mural map at any of the art galleries and take a self-guided tour. Be sure to tag #RoyalSquareMurals in your pics so we can see them!
The Royal Square District is located in downtown York, PA, in the area surrounded by King, Queen, Duke, and Princess streets. Get to the intersection on King & Duke & you are there.
PARKING: Free parking is available after 5:00 on the street and at the following locations:
– Corner lot of E. Newton Ave and S. Duke Street
– E. King Street and S. Queen Street Lot (directly across from The Bond)
– Collusion Tapworks Customers: Corner lot of S. Howard Street and E. Newton Avenue (directly behind the Bond)
– King Street Parking Garage

About “Raise The Curtain”…
“In support of all York County arts attractions, the ‘Raise the Curtain’ campaign will highlight all of the upcoming concerts, festivals, and arts experiences we have been missing while ensuring audiences maintain their personal level of comfort and safety.
Presented by Glatfelter Insurance Group with additional support from M&T Bank, Traditions Bank, CGA Law and WITF, the ”Raise the Curtain” initiative will launch with a week of free, featured events in the community from February 14th-19th followed by a public service campaign to reengage patrons with the arts they have been missing.
