Guest Artist Recital: Jeffrey Fahnestock, tenor and Naomi Niskala, piano

Wednesday, January 25, 2017, 7:30 PM, DeMeester Recital Hall, Wolf Hall

Guest artists Jeffrey Fahnestock (tenor) and Naomi Niskala (piano) will perform Franz Schubert’s famous song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:30 p.m. in DeMeester Auditorium. The composer’s earliest cycle is comprised of 20 songs telling the story of the unrequited love of a young journeyman who falls in love with a miller’s daughter. One of Schubert’s most important works, Die Schöne Müllerin is a composition of equal partnership with the piano and voice, intimately telling the story with music and words. The cycle will be performed in its entirety in German with translations provided.
