His Story. Her Story. Our History.

Three days of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in York.

Twenty-five years ago, Family First Health saw a national crisis impacting our local community – HIV/AIDS was devastating communities and a local response was necessary. Caring for those in need and getting them access to health care is not only a basic human right, it’s Family First Health’s mission.

We celebrate our commitment to treating the nearly 600 patients living with HIV/AIDS we now serve through our Caring Together program, a collaboration between Family First Health and WellSpan Health, and acknowledge there is still work to be done. One in 5 Americans is living with HIV and unaware of the infection. And for those already diagnosed, it is a treatable chronic disease when engaged in the right care.

Join Family First Health Thursday, June 23 at an opening reception to kick off “His Story. Her Story. Our History.” – a weekend of events as we bring 12 panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt into York. We want to pause and remember those we’ve lost and reflect on what more can be done to support healthy and long lives for those diagnosed and prevent transmission whenever possible. We acknowledge that there’s still work to be done and ensure that history will not repeat itself.

The reception will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at York’s Central Market. The Quilt – which includes many local and regional panels – will be on display across the street at the Marketview Arts W. Dale Brougher Exhibition Hall, 37 W. Philadelphia St., York. Tours will depart Market on the half-hour. Opening remarks are set for 6 p.m. Light food and drink will be provided.
