Food, Music, and History are celebrated at History on the Half Shell Sunday, October 15 from 11-4 hosted by the York County History Center
Each October the York County History Center celebrates our Colonial Heritage with an Artisan and Food festival at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum. It began with the discovery of oyster shells during an archaeological dig behind the Golden Plough Tavern in 1960. Now, 43 years later, the “History on the Half Shell, An Arts and Food Experience” is a day-long celebration of food, music, & art. The season’s finest oysters will be handpicked and served raw, stewed, and fried. Other non-seafood dishes are available & the crew will be glad to pour you something, be it a local wine, a craft beer, or maybe a soda or mulled local cider.
More than just the food, special features include:
• Live Music by Local Musicians
• Craft Demonstrations
• Oyster Shell Recycling Program
• Free Admission to the Agricultural & Industrial Museum
This is a free event & all food is sold a la carte. Attendees are encouraged to bring their family to this community oriented event & explore the Agriculture & Industrial Museum. Free Parking is available
