The Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village at Muddy Creek Forks is adding a new family-fun event this year, an ice cream social and teddy bear picnic. This first-time event takes place Sunday, July 2 from 1 to 5 PM inside and on the lawn of the A.M. Grove general store. Excursion trains through the Muddy Creek Valley will also be running hourly.
For $5 (or just $4 with the purchase of a train ticket) visitors can get a bowl of ice cream and an un-iced vanilla cupcake to frost and decorate with over a dozen different toppings available. Visitors can bring a picnic lunch to eat on the store lawn, and children are invited to bring a teddy bear or favorite stuffed animal to join in the fun.
The Muddy Creek Forks Roller Mills and grain elevator will also be open with costumed docents and guided village tours will be offered. Motorcar train excursions through the Muddy Creek Valley will run at 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, and 4:15. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 3-12, and free for children under 3. Train tickets can be purchased online at www.MaAndPaRailroad.com.
