A special showing of the art by Sharon Benner, a Hanover plein air painter.
The paintings of Sharon Benner, a longtime member of the Hanover Area Arts Guild, will be on display throughout June at Art Downtown, the Arts Guild gallery, in downtown Hanover.
The show, “Light in the Landscape: Paintings by Sharon Benner,” can be seen during regular gallery hours.
Benner is a plein air painter, taking her canvas, paint and brushes into the field for a first-hand look at her subjects. She often paints at Codorus State Park and the Gettysburg National Military Park.
This June’s exhibit will show off the many oil and pastel works she has created throughout the years.
Art lovers also will have a chance to talk with Benner during Hanover’s annual Sip and Stroll. Benner will be on hand 2-7 p.m. June 3 at Art Downtown.
The gallery, which is always free, is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
