Master Class - Broadway Workshop: Mastering the Monologue

Get into character as you perfect your next monologue in this special workshop led by Broadway performer, Raymond Lee. Students will participate in a variety of exercises that dig into the research and character development of a monologue. While some monologues will be provided, students are encouraged to bring their own to perform and receive personalized feedback as time allows.

FOR AGES 14 -21

Please note that the instructor, Ray Lee, will be joining via zoom. We are excited to welcome students to the Appell Center Studio, or they can join from home if preferred.

About the Instructor:

RAYMOND J. LEE was most recently in the company of Once Upon A One More Time at Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC. Before the pandemic, he was in the companies of Mack & Mabel at City Center Encores! and Soft Power at The Public Theater. Broadway credits include Aladdin, Anything Goes, Groundhog Day, Honeymoon in Vegas, and Mamma Mia! Regional credits include productions at A.C.T., La Jolla, The MUNY, and Paper Mill. Film/TV credits include Marriage Story, Ghost Town, “Succession,” “Billions,” “Red Oaks,” and “Smash.” His voiceover work includes projects for Dreamworks, Netflix, and several audiobooks.
