The Goodridge Freedom Center and York Friends Meeting celebrate their shared history with a talk on the Underground Railroad.
Quaker historian Lamar Matthew will give a talk at the Goodridge Freedom Center on First Friday in March tracing the routes of the Underground Railroad through Quaker homes and farms in York County and Adams County. The talk will take place at 5:30 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017. Following the talk, guests are invited to walk three blocks west for an open house and light refreshments at the York Friends Meetinghouse at 6:30 PM. Reservations are not required, and guests are invited to arrive early or stay late for tours and conversation at the Goodridge Freedom Center, open from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and at the Meetinghouse, open from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
