Julie Riker: Plein Air Painting: Focusing on a Strong Composition (all levels)

Plein air painting is rewarding and fun. There are so many great subjects to paint in nature, but sometimes it is challenging to make sense of all that information. How can you create an interesting composition- or even decide what to paint?  In this class I will help you create strong compositions in your plein air paintings. We will learn the elements that make a good image and practice quick sketches to try out compositions before painting. There will be plenty of time to draw and paint in a beautiful setting. This class is open to all drawing and painting mediums, but the demonstrations will be done in oil. Beginning plein air painters are welcome but should have some comfort-level proficiency with their chosen medium.
