Red Cross Canteen at Give Local York

Presented by American Red Cross of South Central PA at Downtown York, York PA

Red Cross Canteen at Give Local York

Stop by the Red Cross canteen truck on Beaver Street, grab a snack and support local disaster relief!

Every eight minutes, we meet a family that has lost everything to a home fire or other disaster—the roof over their heads, their clothes, their most cherished possessions. But you can help during those first devastating hours. Your gift can provide hope and urgent relief, like food, shelter and other essentials to people who need it most. Make an impact.

While many people hear about our relief work for big disasters, the Red Cross also responds to nearly 64,000 disasters each year, 93 percent of which are home fires. Last year, the American Red Cross of South Central PA responded to 75 local disasters just in York County, and provided $80,753  in direct client assistance to 318 individuals here at home. Year round, the Red Cross is preparing for disasters of all sizes – building and maintaining partnerships, keeping disaster vehicles ready and running, stocking warehouses and training volunteers.

No one else does this: not the government, not other charities. From small house fires to multi-state natural disasters, the American Red Cross goes wherever we’re needed, so people can have clean water, safe shelter and hot meals when they need them most. Support the American Red Cross in York County during Give Local York, our hometown’s biggest day of philanthropy!
