STEAM Sneakerheadz: "Mini" STEAM Sneaker Art Workshop

STEAM Sneakerheadz is a unique and innovative education program that combines the passion for sneakers with the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). The program aims to educate students about the chemistry of sneakers, such as the materials, processes, and properties that make them durable, comfortable, and stylish. The program also addresses the importance of educating and exposing students to these advanced chemistries at a younger age, especially in underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized communities.

This mission is approached by facilitating STEAM sneaker art workshops where students create and customize their own sneaker artwork.

This is a free December event is hosted by Jakyra Simpson, aka Ky the Chemist, a native of York City. This event is open to students in grades 9-12. This will be an educational workshop that will teach students about the chemistry of sneakers and students will also create their own custom mini-sneaker art.
