Summer camps for all ages to learn about theatre from writing to acting.
July 10th-14th (1 week sessions)
Rupert Meets Mrs. Tales, Production – Ages 7-12 (9am-4pm) $160
Participants will learn all the basics of live theater from auditioning to performing. They will cover the art of creating a character, stage directions, an other theatre essentials. This camp is tailored for children with varying level of theatre experience as well as students with physical or learning challenges.
Play Writing & Reading! – Ages 9-13 (9am-12pm) Ages 14-18 (1pm-4pm) $80
We all have stories to tell. The easiest way to write them down is by way of a script. Why? Because a play is simply people talking to one another. If you can talk, you can write a play! Via games, observations, and interactions this camp will help you discover some of the playwriting’s secrets. The sharing for these groups will be combined and take place at 6pm on the 14th.
Step Back In Time – Ages 12-18 (6:30pm-8:30pm) $80
Join Lady Rochester, Sir Willem and Master Young for evenings of Renaissance revelry. Learn some historical facts, songs a dance or two and games from the time period. Connect with your inner Elizabethan and create tour own persona to show off all you’ve learned.
July 17th-28th (2 week session)
Through The Looking Glass – Ages 10-15 (91m-4pm) $300
Join us for two weeks of mounting a musical production — From audition to performance. Campers will learn the skills for successful auditions, stage movement, and vocal technique through rehearsing and performing this zany adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass. Alice, as a Pawn, must travel from the second square to the eighth on the chess broad to accomplish her goal os becoming a queen. You’ll recognize some of your favorite characters of Wonderland and meet new ones along the journey. The most exciting part is the camp culmination in a live performance!
July 24th-28th (1-week session)
D&D Introduction – Ages 12 and up (6:30pm-8:30pm) $50
(ages 10 and 11 may register if accompanied by an adult camper)
D&D is a great way to foster imaginations and immerse people in a world of fantasy that teaches skills that will stick with them in the real world. Conflict resolution, problem solving, and adventure are all wrapped up in these role-playing games. This class is designed for people for all ages on how to play and enjoy the world of Dungeons and Dragons and other role-playing games. This camp does not have a sharing.*
Campers need to bring their lunch. *Family and friends are invited to a performance/sharing at the end of each camp.
