VOICE — Teens will learn about podcasting and how to use their voice to speak up on issues and ideas that are important to them. During the session they will have the opportunity to reflect and think about what they would want to speak out on through podcasting or other ways to use their voice.
Vision – What you see and what you want to see, who you represent
Voice – What you want to say and need to say, in spaces you need to be heard
Value – What is important and an awareness of what is around you
The Confronting Racism Coalition is proud to partner with Martin Library to provide a series focused on engaging teens in York County by utilizing advocacy through various mediums.
Our goal is to inspire youth across our community to be engaged and work for a stronger York. A local community leader will lead each topic; sessions will be capped at 20 participants per session. Based on what they learn, students will work on a project that will be on display to the public during a celebration on the evening of November 15 in Martin Library.
York County teens between the ages of 13 and 18 may register for one or more sessions at no cost, thanks to a grant from the York County Community Fund’s Racial Equity Fund. Each session will run from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Register at confrontingracism@gmail.com.
