The Big Swing Thing III

It’s Swing Time again in York, Pennsylvania, and we’re bringing it back with style.

York’s historic Valencia Ballroom swings again with the third edition of the Big Swing Thing, the Mid-Atlantic Region’s biggest and best music and dance weekend. One of just a half dozen grand ballrooms from the big band era, the Valencia looks has been cleaned, shined, polished, and restored to its original art deco grandeur.  With its fully spring loaded, 5000 foot dance floor, the ballroom has been called the best dance venue east of the Mississippi River.

On Saturday, April 12-14, 2017, we are bringing back the fun and excitement of the big swing years to the Valencia once again. This will be an FULL WEEKEND, featuring ELEVEN LIVE BANDS, with 24 hours of live music kicking off at 7:00 PM on Friday, and rolling on until Sunday. There will be swing dance performances, classes, and workshops throughout the day, featuring the region’s best dance instructors and performing groups. During band breaks and stage change times, hot recorded swing dance music will fill the hall, but mostly, there will be lots and lots of live swing music to appeal to music lovers and dancers young and old.
