Writers’ Roundtable

The next meeting of the Writers’ Roundtable is Thursday, September 5. Our speaker will be Joan Concilio who will speak on Search Engine Optimization

Have you ever Googled yourself? When you type something into Google, the first link to pop up has what we call “Search Engine Optimization,” or SEO. Search Engines, such as Google, rank primary search results based off relevancy for users. Since most of us write for the public, making sure our pieces are available to them is crucial to sharing what we’ve learned. Join Joan Concilio, long-time York blogger and digital platform coordinator for YDR, for the next Writers’ Roundtable to learn more about increasing your visibility. Using her research on public health for her Master’s thesis and time at the Hershey Medical Center, Joan will share how she illuminated the role of the Lassa virus in York County as a case study. Let Joan be your guide as she teaches us about key terms and phrases that help your website, online articles, blogs, and digital resources build bridges between you and your readers.

The York County Writers’ Roundtable networks writers and researchers of York County and regional history. The group meets on the first Thursday of every quarter at 7:00 p.m. at the Historical Society Museum, Library & Archives a 250 E. Market St.  This event is free and open to the public.
