Ten years ago, Scott L. Mingus, Sr. and James McClure collected Civil War stories from families in York County, Pennsylvania and the region. The two historians published those stories in two volumes, “Civil War Voices” and “More Civil War Voices”. In this volume, “Civil War Stories from York County, Pa.,” the authors added new stories – dozens of them- to their combined earlier works. In “Civil War Stories from York County, Pa.,” they give voices to those living, serving, and dying in the tumultuous Civil War era in York County and in South-Central Pennsylvania.
Founded as the White Rose Civil War Round Table, the York CWRT holds monthly meetings the third Wednesday of every month except December at 7:00 p.m. Each meeting features a guest speaker talking about a Civil War topic of local or national interest.
