York Symphony's Elgar’s Enigma

Presented by York Symphony Orchestra at Appell Center for the Performing Arts, York PA

Nov 04 2023
York Symphony's Elgar’s Enigma

The York Symphony Orchestra presents Elgar’s Enigma concert with in-person theatre seats and 48-hour digital access options.

The concert celebrates Britain’s most notable composers during the Romantic era. Featuring Concertmaster Denise Dillenbeck and Principal Horn Cheryl Staherski, Ethel Smyth breaks boundaries as she captivates the listener with her charming Concerto for Violin & Horn. Next Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s The Bamboula was inspired from the animated aforenamed Caribbean dance, and finally Edward Elgar’s masterpiece Enigma Variations came to fruition with musical parodies of his friends and supposedly contains a hidden mystery.
