Zoom into History with Red Land Library: Session 3: Tactics of the Great War” with Jeff Hawks.

North Eastern York County History In Preservation, AllVets of York and Red Land Community Library have partnered to bring you some of your favorite Historians and speakers this Fall with Zoom into History!  Pull up your computer or IPAD with a comfortable chair and join us for a series of free Zoom programs. No masks required and social distance will be in miles.

You must register to reserve a space for this series of events.  Please visit Zoom into History: Sessions 3 to RSVP and we will then email you the login information before the event begins. It is not necessary to do anything before the event but first-time users may want to log on a few minutes prior.

Session 3:  “Tactics of the Great War” with Jeff Hawks

Why did World War I bog down in trench warfare? How did the Allies breakout in the end? Why did it take so long to overcome the problems of trench warfare? Reading theories about the Riddle of Trench Warfare.

About the speaker:
Jeff Hawks is the Education Director at Army Heritage Center Foundation in Carlisle and State Coordinator of National History Day in PA. He gives talks and presentations about army history. He is also involved with The Soldier Experience Living History Adventure Camp which gives youth in grades 7-10 a chance to study history and understand the role of the soldier in a one-week living history camp.
