“The colorful nature and textured surface of her artwork soothe and energize the viewer much as if they were experiencing nature in its raw form.”

Inspired by movement and color, Anita seeks to find the magical in nature, whether it is in trees or flowers, waterways or twisting vines.  She hopes to transfer this sense of beauty to her audience.

Anita taught Art at the Spring Grove Area School District for 15 years.  She retired in 2019 to work as a full time artist at her York studio. She is now a painting teacher at the York Art Association and the Adams County Arts Council.

Anita spends her time painting at her studio above the Handsome Cab in York.  Last year she has expanded her repertoire to murals.  She just completed a mural for the Diversity Club of Biglerville High School and worked with other local artists on a mural for DreamWrights in York.  In 2023, Anita was selected to paint a mural in the Royal Square district through the Parliament Arts Organization and Sprocket Works of Harrisburg.

Anita won two major awards in 2023, The Rottler Award for Artistic Excellence from the York Art Association and the Landscape Award at the Adams County Art Council Juried Art Exhibition held at Gettysburg College.
