Art is the essence of an artist’s story. My work inclines to the perspective of my life, most of my paintings are colorful, I enjoy painting with color especially the medium of acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is shiny and better to work with, it gives off exactly how I like it to work, when I paint with it I feel in control of what I am doing. Ever since I was a little girl I loved colors and I enjoyed drawing, even if they weren’t my original drawings, I still liked the way other artists would portrait characters in movies or kids shows. I did not grow up in the wealthiest place ever but I loved everything about it and it had taken me 9 years of my life to realize what a beautiful place El Salvador is. I did not have paint growing up, I barely had color pencils and my school did not have an actual art class. Coming to the United States helped me develop my artistic skills with the process of not being good enough. Even today I am still practicing to get better everyday. I would like to reach people’s hearts with my art, the struggles people go through, know that they are not alone in life, sometimes it’s hard for ourselves to tell other people how we feel but with art, I feel like I am able to express myself in anyway and whoever sees it can connect with it. Art for me is an escape from the world, and I want to share that with everyone who feels like they need an escape as well.
