The present meets the past at this event featuring living history at its wildest. The election of York County’s first public official in 1750 ended in a riot between German and Irish settlers. Cast your vote for candidate (if you can), and witness a reenactment of how that Election Day unfolded, as it is told in several York County histories. Curious if the story is true? Reenactors, demonstrators, and living historians bring the 18^th century to modern York. See (and hear) mortar demonstrations by Lancaster Flying Camp. Meet Baron Von Steuben, the man who strengthened the Continental Army at Valley Forge. Enjoy a tasting of known tavern drinks in the Golden Plough Tavern, presented by Murray Small of Dill’s Tavern (id required, limited spaces  available), or engage the little ones in the “This is Home” family activity area featuring a rope bed that can be strung, and straw mattress to lay on, as well as “chores” and games.
