The first York White Rose Run was held in 1977 and has been run on the streets of York City for 40 years. The race has drawn as many as 600+ runners and has been known to attract a field of elite runners from local and regional areas, including Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York. The five-mile course starts on Beaver Street near the York Central Market House, meanders throughout York City, climbs the hills to Farquhar Park and finishes straight and fast down Beaver Street to the White Rose Bar & Grill.
