The world of Thomas, a young, gay, German baker, is upturned with word that Oren, his married, Israeli lover, has been killed in a car accident in Jerusalem. Seeking answers, closure, or a way to channel his grief, Thomas travels to the café run by Anat, his lover’s widow. Unsuspecting, Anat hires Thomas to wash dishes, but before long he is producing exquisite baked goods that fill the café with customers and make him a vital part of the operation – and of Anat’s life.
