Come explore gemstones with us—up close and personal. This is an all levels class where you will have the opportunity to mine your own stones, create a custom wire-wrapped pendant, and learn about the scientific and healing properties of gemstones.

All tools and materials provided. You may get your hands wet.

Instructor Info: Karen Reiss Staub & Torry Tyler-Bragg

Karen has been in the jewelry business for 22 years and has many years with hands on experience. She has been Certified in her GIA Diamond and colored stone classes and earned Jewelry Repair and Stone Setting Certificates from New Approach School in Virginia Beach, VA. Also, she studied silversmithing under Bill Thompson of Yorktowne Craft Guild. Karen has been creating jewelry designs and selling her own line of jewelry for 10 years and does most of the repair work at her store, The Watchmaker’s Daughter. Her passion for nature is reflected in her jewelry by her use of natural stones and organic designs. She also loves re-purposing things to give them a new life, turning the old into new!

Torry Tyler-Bragg has been learning and practicing spirituality, through Reiki/energy work, healing stones, and her Native American heritage for nearly a decade. She is passionate about helping others implement healing into their everyday lives.

Inclement Weather and Cancellation:

In the chance of inclement weather or low enrollment, we may reschedule/cancel and notify you via email prior to the event.   In the event you cannot make the rescheduled event or cancellation, you’ll be issued a credit towards a future Watchmaker’s Daughter workshop.

Accessibility and Parking:

The studio space is only accessed by stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. And there are three great parking lots within walking distance—listed below, beginning with closest in proximity, and street parking is available.
