Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, the Latino Youth Art Exhibit
will be exhibited at Marketview Arts, Lower Level (across from Central Market). Please join us for an opening reception celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on First Friday, October 4 at 5 P.M.

In this exhibit, Latino students from middle school and high school (attending Logos Academy, CASA, and Edgar Fahs Smith STEAM Academy, York City School District) celebrate their cultural/ethnic identity through their own unique creative process, by using colors, shapes, images, experiences, favorite quotes that are meaningful to them. Art can be a powerful way of finding your own voice. In this exhibit, students explore through art making the powerful way of finding their own unique voice.

The Latino Youth Art Exhibit will be running in conjunction with the “Crossing Borders: Vecinos Unidos en la Nueva América” Exhibit , September 6 – October 19, 2019, also at Marketview Arts (all floors). Curated by Matthew Clay-Robison, Rosa Luz Catterall, and Joaquin Calles Guzman, this exhibition will be held during national Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15 – Oct 15) and explores the intersectionality, hybridity and multiplicity of the Latinx identity through a range of media including painting, sculpture, and performance.
