Call For Art: Works Made in 2020, Open Theme
for our “SUMMARY” exhibit at HIVE artspace
Submission Deadline: July 25 by midnight
Exhibit dates: August 7-30, 2020

For the August exhibit at HIVE artspace, we want to see what you have been creating in 2020. There is no specific theme for this exhibit, it just has to have been created in 2020. So whether it is an ongoing body of work, a new body of work, a response to the various things going on in the world or locally, or just what you felt inspired to make this year so far… we want to see it. All mediums are welcome. There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration.

The exhibit will run from August 7-30, with a “Virtual Opening Reception” (and possibly an in-person one depending on what the Covid case status is at that time) on First Friday August 7, from 6-8pm.

SUBMISSION NOTES:
~ Up to 3 submissions allowed, though more may be requested by gallery as needed, see important note below regarding images.
~ There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 hanging fee per artist (not per works) for accepted artwork, which goes toward gallery/exhibit expenses.
~ All works must be for sale.
~ Gallery Commission is 25% on artworks sold.
~ Final artwork to customer should be wired/ready-to-hang/display, unless specifically noted in the submission that it is not. Pricing submitted should reflect this.

to HIVEartspace@gmail.com with the following items:

~ Up to 3 submissions in low-res jpeg or png format – PLEASE make sure the images properly & clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the on-line gallery. Watch out for glare and background clutter, photographing them hanging against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will probably give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as “square” in the frame as possible.
~ Your name as it should appear on exhibit materials
~ Title, medium, size + framed/unframed, and price (in that order) for each artwork submitted
~ Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional)

IMPORTANT DATES:
~ Deadline for submissions: Saturday, July 25 by midnight
~ Artwork drop-off: Saturday 8/1 & Sunday 8/2
~ Virtual Opening Reception: First Friday August 7, 6-8pm
~ Exhibit Dates: August 7-30, 2020
