Letterpress Coaster Printing

Letterpress Coaster Printing

Presented by CoWork155 at CoWork155

Join me at Marketview Arts to print coasters letterpress style. I will give a lesson on setting type for letterpress. Each participant will be setting metal and/or wood type, slowly by hand, one letter at a time. You will respond to artwork I have in my studio to make coasters.

!!!!! OPTION !!!!  For the artist that would like to attend this workshop we could make a plate of your artwork in advance of the class and use it to print your coaster. Anyone interested in this I will need you to contact me no later than March 29. Please note the making of a custom plate will be at the expense of the participant.

Each participant will produce uniquely personalized coasters to take home with them at the end of the day as well as the coasters of your fellow printers!

Contributors are asked to wear old clothing, as we will get a bit messy with ink.

PLEASE NOTE: This SkillSwap session is not 1 hour. I anticipate the class will take at least 3 hours.

Collaborate with us at the Marketview Arts building located at 37 West Philadelphia Street, in downtown York. We will be printing in the Catch and Release Press shop starting at noon.
