Oral History Training Webinar
On September 26 from 1:00 to 2:30, the York County History Center will host an Oral History training webinar. We invite anyone interested in learning how to conduct oral history interviews and help preserve community history to participate. Preserving family and community stories is essential to understanding life in the past, as well as documenting the exceptional times we live in today.
Barry Loveland will lead the training. Barry will discuss oral history interviewing and his work with the LGBT Center of Central Pa History Project. Barry will be joined by Dr. Monea Abdul-Majeed, Racial Justice Coordinator for the YWCA York. Dr. Abdul-Majeed will discuss the importance of cultural competency when working with under-represented communities. We will also be discussing future training and volunteer opportunities at the York County History Center.
