Joy Ufema Counsel and the York House Hospice
Joy Ufema-Counsel is a retired nurse and thanatologist.  Her work with the terminally ill has been featured on national television on “60 Minutes” and film, “A Matter of Life and Death”.  Joy has written two books “Brief Companions” and Insights on Death and Dying” and has published a number of articles.  Joy will speak about her experiences working with the terminally ill and her caring for AIDs patients at the York House Hospice during the height of the AIDs epidemic
