Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Cultural Celebration

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Cultural Celebration

Presented by Union Lutheran at Unknown

As part of the Cultural Alliance of York County’s Celebrate Arts week, Union Lutheran is excited to join forces with The Parliament, Black Swan Ballet Company, YorkXL, and The Movement to present an evening of learning, community, history, music, dance, and visual art in celebration of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.

This encouraging evening of special guests and performance inspired by the words of Dr. King lifts up the many gifts and talents of York County’s African-American leaders as we visit historical sites and hear words of inspiration from mentors, educators, and community-builders.

Hosted by York’s first African-American Poet Laureate, Carla Christopher, special guests include: Ralph Real, Logik Lee of Studio 117, Warkenda Williams-Casey of Black Swan Ballet Co., Ophelia Chambliss, Conscious aka “Uncle Proc”, Scarlet Rose the Singer, Kayode Malomo, and many more.

This event is free and open to the public. This year, we present our beloved annual MLK Celebration in an online format so that it can be safely accessible to all. May the legacy of teaching, speaking, and acting for the inspiration of others carry on my countless more generations.

*YouTube premiere link will be available a week before the event which we also be available on the Facebook pages of The Cultural Alliance and Union Lutheran.*
