Have you ever wished to drink out of a mug that you made yourself? Well, you can! In this Pottery 1 Class you will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing from start to finished vessel.
Students will learn the basics of how to use a pottery wheel, ceramic terms and tools, how to prep and measure clay, center a 2-3 lbs lump of clay, then open and raise a cylinder including shaping walls. When being in a leather hard stage learning how to trim a piece, pull handles and assembling them. Students will learn the basics of loading green ware in the kiln (day TBD). A material fee of $25, included in the class fee, is charged for clay and firing.
