The York College Jazz Ensemble performs a wide variety of music by the jazz greats, including Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Count Basie and Duke Ellington.

Students are featured in both written arrangements and spontaneous improvisations. The ensemble performs in various jazz idioms, including swing, bebop, and fusion.
