Open House & Purim Celebration

Presented by York Jewish Community Center at York Jewish Community Center

The York Jewish Community Center (JCC) will host its J Open House & Purim Celebration Friday, March 11 to Sunday, March 13 at the York JCC. The events are free and open to the public.

Participants will be encouraged to enjoy entertainment, participate in crafts and activities, and drop-in free group fitness classes. Food trucks will be available throughout the weekend celebration.

Tours of the JCC will be offered throughout the day, showcasing the fitness center, gymnasium, group fitness classes, on-site café, and wide range of cultural, social, and inclusive programs.

J Open House takes place shortly before Purim (POUR-um), or the Feast of Lots – a joyous holiday that recounts the saving of the Jews from a threatened massacre during the Persian period (539-330 BCE). The holiday is traditionally celebrated with community celebrations and giving of gifts to friends and the poor.

The York Jewish Community Center creates opportunities for everyone, inspires relationships, builds a community of well-being, and enhances Jewish communal life.
