York County families suffered terribly in the Civil War. At the same time, county residents persevered and contributed mightily to the war and were ready for a new chapter in their story. The region’s natural resources and proximity to markets put the county in a prime position for what was next: the Industrial Revolution. This program probes how York County moved on in the years after the Civil War, with the focus on the accomplishments and struggles experienced by key figures from the Civil War era.

Founded as the White Rose Civil War Roundtable, the York CWRT holds monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of every month except December at 7:00 p.m.  Each meeting features a guest speaker talking about a Civil War topic of local or national interest. Meetings are FREE and open to the public. Click here for more information on upcoming programs.
